Pearson Entertainment Group Ltd earlier last week announced the launch of The Liverpool Academy of Musical Theatre offering a one- year, post grad equivalent, vocational diploma in Musical Theatre in Liverpool designed to hone, nurture and develop natural talent, allowing actors to enter the industry ready for the professional world.
Rosie and James Pearson, Founders of Pearson Casting and Pearson Theatre Productions first moved to Liverpool three years ago. Together, they have created numerous opportunities for performers in the North West and their latest venture aims to provide an experience that is currently unavailable in the North West of England!
Housed at the iconic Liverpool Empire Theatre in the heart of Liverpool, the course has been designed with 20 years of industry knowledge, not only from the Pearsons’ extensive personal experience as performers but also as respected Theatre Producers and Casting Directors.
The course will also be taught by practitioners who are still active within the industry and have professional experience as actors, directors, choreographers, agents, voice specialists, casting directors, literature specialists and musical directors, allowing students to interact with industry professionals throughout their training, and be taught by artists and creatives working within some of the most current productions in the UK.
Two scholarship places are also available covering the entirety of the academic fees and will be offered to exceptional applicants who demonstrate outstanding talent and potential at the audition stage. In order to showcase local talent, one of the scholarships will be awarded to a student from Liverpool.
Check out the link below as the first round of auditions for our January 2017 intake will take place in Liverpool, mid October.

Q&A with LAMT
Rosie Pearson: “The environment we’re creating will replicate the feel of a professional theatre company rather than a classroom; the students will enter via the stage door of such a prestigious theatre alongside touring cast – it’s the perfect environment for practical training.”
James Pearson: “The need for a vocational course of this nature outside London is unquestionable and we feel that this course is the perfect complement to the other courses in the North West. With the astronomical cost of living and fees in our capital, to have a one-year post grad equivalent diploma such as this in the North West is invaluable to our industry.”
